The holiday season is magical, isn’t it? Twinkling lights, cozy nights, and the joy of giving. But let’s be honest—sometimes, in the c...
I saw a meme from Rochin Rukai the other day that said, “you can’t shame yourself into change. You can only love yourself into evolution.” This resonated with me so much. We can be so hard on ourselves, and being ashamed of ourselves really isn’t productive. It keeps us in a low place that is hard to move away from. I’ve talked before about the need to be kind to ourselves, and this meme calls it out beautifully.
Change isn’t easy. We all know that. If it was, we’d all be doing our dream job,
at our dream weight and living the life we’ve dreamed of. In order to transform your life, you have to
be open to change. Your mind and body will only move towards that new life you
want if you are open to making the needed changes. If you’re resisting the
change, the first thing to do is figure out why. What’s holding you back? The second thing is to realize that, yes,
change can be scary or overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. By making small changes that fit into your
life and become habits, you can move forward and get the things you want. You also
can’t punish yourself if you miss a goal or step in your plan. Give yourself
grace when you slide, because you most likely will, and that’s ok. It’s human.
We aren’t perfect.
I know, this makes changing your life sound simple,
right? Well, it may not be simple, but
it doesn’t have to be the daunting challenge you think it is. Small steps will get you there.
