The holiday season is magical, isn’t it? Twinkling lights, cozy nights, and the joy of giving. But let’s be honest—sometimes, in the c...
Coaching is about story telling. It’s about sharing
experiences, but, the heart of coaching isn’t about the coach’s story. It’s
about yours. Your real, raw, unfolding life story.
A good coach holds space for you to share your story out loud,
for possibly the first time. Every story holds a secret. a lesson, a
breakthrough, or a turning point. But figuring out what the secret is can be
challenging. We tend to be blinded by our own struggles and can’t see those
nuggets within our stories. Often the answers you need are already inside you.
They’ve just been buried beneath doubt, fear, or years of distraction. When you
share your story in a safe space, you begin to see it more clearly, and you gain
the power to rewrite the parts that no longer serve you.
You know, I like to share ways you can do this on your own,
so one thing to try is journaling your struggle. Write about what you’re
feeling and experiencing. Then, go back and read what you’ve written later when
you’re less emotional. As you read, look for things that repeat, or those items
that make you say, “aha” or “wow.” Those are your nuggets of learning.
Of course, a coach can help you uncover those moments too. But
make sure you find the right one. You want someone who will be curious and
compassionate, who will make the session about you, not them. I promise that I
will be empathetic, and that I won’t put my own spin on your story. I will
listen to you and help you find your answers. I will walk beside you on your
journey.
So I ask you this:
What story are you telling yourself today? Is it leading you toward the
life you truly want?
Let’s find out together. Your next chapter is waiting. Find
