The words we use have more power
than we realise, words can inspire us to do amazing things; or they can also
hold us back in fear. How many times
have you told yourself you are not worthy of doing or achieving something?
Hello, my name is Catherine Strong,
and I will be exploring our commitment to self-care through the language we
use; and how by making changes to the words you use these can inspire you to achieve
more than you think you can.
I know have easy it is to tell
yourself you are not good enough; you don’t have the right qualifications or
experience; the list of what you are not
good at can go on and on until you believe your dreams are not meant to
happen; so you end up staying where you are, all the time you are wishing for more. It’s easy to compare ourselves to others; but
remember that there is only one you in this world, with you own unique
qualities. Let’s make today when
self-care is your top priority.
Through this video I will explore
three approaches to embrace self-care and how these can drastically help you to
change the way you are thinking:
1. Know
your self-worth. You are unique, a
one of a kind. Practice STOPPING
– when you find yourself saying I can’t do this or that, say STOP
followed by I am going to do this, or I can do this and then go after your
dreams.
2. Focus
every day on three things that you are grateful for. The two most powerful words in the English
language are THANK YOU. The more you
find to be grateful for; more new opportunity will present themselves.
3. Give
yourself permission to take regular breaks.
I know how busy day to day life can be and its easy to get caught up
in being busy getting more frustrated and stressed. Plan regular breaks even if is to take a
deep breath and breathe. When we pause,
breathe and quiet our minds we can then look at what’s going with fresh eyes
and will probably find the solution you are looking for.
