Be kind to yourself. Take a break

Sometimes we need to take a break from all that is happening around us.  That’s what I’ve been doing.  I’ve needed time to be kind to myself and manage the day-to-day things in my life, as well as my emotional health.  Unemployment took a lot out of me, but thankfully, I have a strong support network, and I took time to learn things about my finances so I could stop worrying about not having a job. I felt such enormous relief once I made the time to look into it all and then to learn we would be ok.  After having been a major breadwinner for most of my life, not working has been a challenge, and I’ve often felt unproductive.  But, that’s ok.  Sometimes we will not be as productive as we think we should for a lot of reasons.  What’s important is to come to terms with it and figure out what’s driving that feeling.  Once you understand it, you can move on more easily.
